Privacy notice
How we handle personal data.
Short, plain and specific. We collect as little as we can and keep it only as long as we need to.
Who we are
Singapore Environmental Business Competition (SEBC) is an independent youth initiative. SEBC is an independent youth initiative. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government agency. We handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Contact us at contact@sebc.online.
What we collect
- Notify list: an email address only.
- Team registration: team name, a team contact email, and for each student a first name and age.
- Parents or guardians: an email address, plus their consent choices and when they were made.
- Entries: a video link, written canvas answers, and proof-of-action photos or numbers.
We do not collect surnames, home addresses, phone numbers, NRIC numbers, birth dates or photos of faces. Please don’t put them in entries either.
Why we use it
- To run the competition: registration, consent, judging, certificates and feedback.
- To send the emails described on this site and nothing else.
- To show winning entries publicly, on this website and on SEBC’s official social media (such as Instagram), but only where every member’s parent ticked the optional box.
Consent
Each student needs their own parent or guardian’s consent. The first checkbox (taking part and being judged) is required; the second (public display of a winning entry on the SEBC website and on SEBC’s official social media, such as Instagram) is optional and doesn’t affect judging. If a parent agrees, we may show the team name, the students’ first names and the entry. We never show surnames, home addresses, phone numbers or NRIC numbers. Consent can be withdrawn at any time with the link in the confirmation email, with immediate effect. If consent is withdrawn we will remove the entry from the website and from our social media accounts.
Posts on social media platforms are also covered by that platform’s own terms and privacy policy. Once something is shared online, other people may copy or share it, which SEBC cannot control.
How long we keep it
- Registrations without full parent consent are deleted automatically 14 days after they are made.
- Notify-list emails are deleted after the registration-opening email is sent.
- Entries and team details are deleted within 12 months after results, unless a winning entry is publicly featured with consent.
Who sees it
Organisers and judges see entries. We use an email service provider to send messages. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
Your rights
Parents may ask to see, correct or delete their child’s data, or withdraw consent, at any time by writing to contact@sebc.online.
